A hidden gem by the waterfall

Staying at Vogur Country Lodge felt like a dream come true. Waking up to stunning views of the surrounding fjord and the sound of a waterfall just behind the lodge was mesmerizing. The warmth of the family-run atmosphere and the engaging staff made our stay delightful. We particularly enjoyed dining at the on-site restaurant, where the chef prepared exquisite meals using fresh, local ingredients.

However, the journey to the lodge was quite lengthy and involved a significant stretch of unpaved road. This may be daunting for those with smaller vehicles. Additionally, we found that our room could have been better cleaned during our multi-day stay, which detracted slightly from the overall experience.

Our family had an incredible time during our stay. The area is stunningly beautiful, and the suite was very nice and comfortable. We loved that there was an easy hiking path behind the hotel leading to a waterfall with breathtaking views over the fjord. The dinner options were limited but absolutely delicious, showcasing the region's culinary scene.

The Wi-Fi was frustratingly poor in certain rooms!!! Heating issues left us chilled upon arrival. Also, noise from other guests outside can really disturb your peace!!! Common areas were not well-maintained, affecting comfort!!!

The backdrop of nature was stunning! We especially loved taking long walks, including a hike to the lovely waterfall nearby. Our large breed dog enjoyed exploring the vast surroundings, and the on-site restaurant served delicious meals with fresh local ingredients.

My wife says that more activities for kids would be great.

The staff, especially Gunni, provided excellent service, making us feel like valued guests. However, the journey to the lodge involved a long drive on an unpaved road, which wasn't ideal for my smaller car. The room had some cleanliness issues, which detracted from the overall comfort. I also noticed that dining could be better organized during busy hours. Despite these minor inconveniences, the overall experience was enjoyable.

Exceptional Food and Warm Host Interaction

During our stay with a group of four adults and three teenagers, the dinners were absolutely delightful, featuring a variety of dishes that were both plentiful and interesting. The highlight was the staff's engagement, especially Ania and Artur, who made a concerted effort to connect with the kids, creating a warm and welcoming environment that made our visit special.

Staying at Country Lodge felt like being in a postcard! Sparkling clean rooms offered breathtaking views over fields and fjords. A waterfall hike right out back. The food was a culinary delight, featuring locally sourced ingredients. Who knew the chef could whip up such delicious lamb dishes? The cozy hot tub also promised a magical star-gazing experience.
